What's new in 2015
The DIAL
All the Rolex Day-Date 40 watches have enscribed on the dial the words „Oyster Perpetual”, „Day-Date” or „Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified”.
The rose gold version has a sundust dial, while the platinum one amazes with the shinny ice blue dial. The yellow gold moled features a special champagne tone.
The CASE
The 2015 Day-Date models are larger, being available in a 40 mm diameter case, with 4 mm bigger that the previous models. The Day-Date watches are made exclusive in yellow gold, rose gold or platinum, having a fine polished case and the Twinlock screwed-down caseback, along with the Twinlock double-sealed crown, assuring the waterproof qualities, allowing the owner to dive in up to 100 m.

MOVEMENT
Lauched in 1956, the „Superlative Chronometer” was designed to be on the top of accurate movements. Today, in 2015, this special automatic movement has the caliber 3255, which is the best yet to come. “Rolex has established a level of chronometric precision that surpasses the level defined by COSC criteria. The new Day-Date's precision on the wrist satisfies criteria twice as exacting as those for an officially certified chronometer, reconnecting with the brand's heritage and restoring full weight to the notion of Superlative Chronometer”, the manufacturer disclosed.
This caliber functions at a 4HZ rate, with 31 jewel, being bi-directional and selfwinding. The power reserve lasts for 70 hours and it's more impressive than all the previous movements ever created. More than that, starting from 1st of July 2015, the Rolex warranty lasts for 5 years.
The BRACELET
2015 brings back the „president” bracalet, with the 3 characteristic semi-circular links. It is an improved version, being more resistant due to its ceramic inserts.
PRICE
The 40 mm Day-Date will be available along with the 36 mm version, but will not replace it. The price range starts from $34,850 for the yellow-gold models up to $115,550 for the platinum variant with diamond bezel and dial, and diamond decorative elements.
